My Story
My name is Natalie, and I’m on a mission to bring ‘Arts-on-Prescription’ to Hong Kong…
For much of history, the brain was viewed as unchanging, lacking the capacity for adaptation. This perspective shifted with Jerzy Konorski’s discovery of neuroplasticity, revealing the brain’s ability to form new neural connections. In exploring the factors that promote neuroplasticity, I was particularly drawn to the impact of art, especially as I volunteered with charities supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.
Delivering Arts-on-Prescription workshops with Food Angel’s elderly participants and teenage girls at RUN HK has been a deeply rewarding experience. Many participants’ stories are seldom heard, deemed ‘less important’ by society, yet their resilience and insights have inspired me greatly. I’ve seen how this work can improve mental health, and I’m so excited to share their stories—and the story of Arts-on-Prescription—with the world!
